This is what most people consider the main drag in Waikiki. During the early hours of the morning, before the tourists mob the street, we took a walk and headed east east across the Ala Wai Canal from our apartment at Yacht Harbor Towers. Near the eastern end of Kalakaua, I took a detour into the venerable Royal Hawaiian Hotel and took a few photos of the Moorish styled interior. We crossed the Ala Wai on Kalakaua on our way back. We could not help but notice all the new construction in West Waikiki. The Watermark, a new residential tower, is nearly complete.
