Kailua

For the many years we've been travelling to Oahu, we had never made the trip up the eastern or windward side of Oahu, that is, until this past Memorial Day Weekend. On Sunday morning, we headed east on H1 for Hawaii Kai, up the coast to Waimanalo, to Kailua, to Kaneohe, to Kahuku and then finally to the North Shore. Kailua Beach Park was perhaps the most memorable stop along the way. The gentle blue waters and the powdery white sand made perfect picnic grounds for the many families enjoying the long weekend.
